Schemes such as the Bro Deg affordable housing project in Rhyl increases the housing supply and is a boost for the local economy, Communities and Tackling Poverty Minister, Lesley Griffiths, said on 14 August.
The Minister visited the Bro Deg affordable housing development, which has received Social Housing Grant funding of £697k, and met some of the residents.
During the development of the project two apprentices were employed, a bricklayer and an electrician.
The Minister said:
“Schemes such as Bro Deg help increase the housing supply locally, but also have an impact on the local economy. They support the construction industry and supply chain and provide jobs and apprenticeships for the local area.
“The homes here at Bro Deg provide good quality affordable accommodation, and I am pleased to see the results of our Social Housing Grant Programme.
“Our investment in affordable homes continues, and this year we are making available over £61m for the Social Housing Grant Programme, including £15m for smaller properties.”
